Yet another tragedy to report, yet another victim on the road, more blood on the asphalt. A fatal accident occurred in the municipality of Massarosa, on Via di Montramito. A cyclist, approximately 60 years old, lost his life following a collision with a Fiat Panda: the man was riding his bicycle when he was hit by the vehicle, driven by a 55-year-old woman from Viareggio, who was traveling in the same direction.
The emergency medical unit and an ambulance from the Viareggio Green Cross arrived at the scene, with paramedics unable to do anything but confirm the cyclist's death, while the Pegaso 3 helicopter, which had been alerted, was not dispatched. The car and bicycle involved in the collision were seized and will be made available to investigators.
The causes of the accident are still to be determined, also because the driver was in a state of profound shock and was transported to Versilia Hospital without being able to provide a statement.
