Cesar Macias Estrada (Burgos team) won the seventh stage of the Tour of Magnificent Qinghai beating Tommaso Nencini of Solution Tech Nippo Rali team and Alexander Salby (Li Ning Star). A truly heart-pounding finale that saw Darren Van Bekkum (Xds Astana) and Alexander Konychev (China Anta Mentech) among the protagonists, only to be caught in the final kilometer. Jonathan Caicedo (Wheeltop Rotor Chengdu Team) maintains the leader's jersey in the general classification.

THE RACE. Yet another day of bad weather at the Tour of Magnificent Qinghai; the seventh stage was indeed shortened by 25 km, eliminating the Tangobaoshan climb that would have taken the peloton above 4000 meters. Rain alternated with several clear moments, requiring intervention from the organizers who promptly secured the road.

From the opening kilometers, Team Xds Astana implemented a clear tactical approach: the Kazakh team's riders positioned themselves at the front of the peloton and attempted to keep the race closed, preventing anyone from breaking away. The reason for this choice was straightforward: to allow Henok Muluebrhan to gain as many bonus seconds as possible.

Approximately 30 km from the finish, three riders attempted to escape the group: Darren Van Bekkum (Xds Astana team), Lorenzo Masciarelli (Mbh Csb Telecom Fort) and Tommaso Nencini (Solution Tech NIPPO Rali). The Dutch rider from Xds Astana remained alone at the front and about 10 km from the finish was caught by Alexander Konychev (China Anta Mentech), who had launched a solo attack from the peloton.

The two athletes attempted to resist in the cold and rain but were caught by the group near the final kilometer. The peloton organized itself for the sprint and it was the Mexican Macias Estrada who prevailed, securing his first professional victory.
