Another bunch sprint at the Tour de France and first career success on the roads of the Grand Boucle for Søren Wærenskjold. After his second-place finish in Bordeaux, the Norwegian sprinter from Uno-X Mobility pulled off a major coup at the Vichy-Nevers finish line where, launching his sprint from a distance, he left behind in order Olav Kooij (Decathlon CMA CGM) and Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Premier Tech), thus putting his signature on the fastest stage in the history of the Grand Boucle.

In the general classification, by virtue of the almost complete absence of difficulties along today's route, Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) easily retained the yellow jersey and his advantage over the main rivals for the general classification where he continues to lead with 3'36" over Jonas Vingegaard (Visma Lease a Bike) and 4'06" over Remco Evenepoel (Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe): for all of them, like today, tomorrow's stage will also be a day of relative calm given that the Circuit Nevers Magny-Cours-Chalon-sur-Saône route of 179 kilometers again favors the fast wheels.
