The third stage of the Valromey Tour Féminin took place yesterday, the challenge reserved for the Women Junior category organized in France. A short but intense final stage that tested the athletes over fifteen kilometers of continuous climbing towards the summit of Col du Grand Colombier.
Victory went to Spanish rider Lidia Castro of Mirat Team who, in the final hundreds of meters of the race, dropped her four breakaway companions and crossed the finish line 3" ahead of Swiss champion Anja Grossmann, racing with the national representative team, and Alejandra Neira, the 18-year-old who will join the "big league" with Movistar starting in 2027.
Another solid performance from Giorgia Pellizzotti: the Italian finished the stage in seventh place, 42" behind the winner.
For the record, on Monday, the second stage of the French competition saw victory for French rider Justine Baud (Equipe Avergne) with Pellizzotti finishing in twelfth place.
