The second edition of the Valromey Tour Féminin, a competition for junior women organized in France, opened under the sign of Karolina Špicarová. At the end of the first stage, held this morning between Lhuis and Saint Victor de Morestel, the 19-year-old Czech athlete outsprinted a group of seven other riders with Switzerland's Anja Grossmann in second place, Australian Neve Parslow in third, and Giorgia Pellizzotti in fourth and the top Italian finisher. At 1'25" from the winner came the group led by Azzurra Ballan, who finished eighth.

The second stage will take place on Monday, while the third and final stage will be held on Tuesday, July 14th.
