22: POGACAR EQUALS DARRIGADE
Another bouquet of flowers for Tadej Pogacar! Raising his arms in the locality of Les Angles, the Slovenian (UAE Team Emirates – XRG) has won his 22nd stage at the Tour de France. The two-time world champion equals Frenchman André Darrigade, thus climbing to 5th place among the most prolific riders on the roads of the Grande Boucle. Pogacar, who also achieved the 122nd victory of his career, had never won so early in the Tour: he had waited until the fourth stage in 2024, at Valloire, and in 2025 at Rouen.

6: UNPRECEDENTED CONSECUTIVE DOUBLE FOR UAE EMIRATES XRG
Following Isaac del Toro's victory on Sunday in Barcelona, Tadej Pogacar has achieved the second consecutive victory for UAE Team Emirates – XRG, a performance the team had already reached five times. However, this double is unprecedented, as the previous ones had been achieved by Pogacar alone. The Slovenian opened the list in 2021, winning the 17th and 18th stages respectively, at Col du Portet and Luz-Ardiden.

0: IN THE SAME SECOND!
Unusually, after the introduction of bonus points at the finish line and during the stage, the top two in the general classification – Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard – are perfectly tied! What tips the scales in favor of the Slovenian are the better placements, without having to count the hundredths of a second from the team time trial. Curiously, a similar situation also occurred in the fourth stage of the 2025 Tour: Mathieu Van der Poel was in yellow ahead of... Tadej Pogacar.

55: A GROWING COLLECTION OF LIONS
Thanks to his victory, Tadej Pogacar leads the general classification for the 55th time in his career. The four-time Tour winner is now four points behind British rider Chris Froome, the fourth rider to have won the most Yellow Jerseys in Tour history. The Slovenian is also growing his collection of distinctive jerseys in the Tour: he has reached 160 because in addition to his 55 yellow jerseys, he has 3 green jerseys, 27 polka dot jerseys and 75 white jerseys.

16: AN INCREASINGLY HISTORIC DUEL
Their duel is increasingly part of Tour history. For the sixteenth time, Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard monopolize the top two positions of a stage. And if we add the final general classification, the total rises to 21! A record dominated by the Slovenian (16 victories against 5), and which is continuously increasing, more than doubling the next pair composed of François Faber and Gustave Garrigou (9 stages and 1 general classification).

1: INCREASINGLY YOUNG
Fourth at Les Angles, Paul Seixas is the first rider under 20 years old, since the 1937 edition, to put together two consecutive top 10 finishes. 9th the day before in Barcelona, the Lyonnais rider from Decathlon – CMA CGM could also equal Dutchman Danny van Poppel, the only 19-year-old to have finished in the top ten of a stage three times. That was in 2013.

160: BAUDIN STOPPED BY THE POLKA DOTS
Impressive and attacking in the breakaway between Granollers and Les Angles, Alex Baudin scored 12 points in the mountain classification, taking the polka dot jersey from Dutchman Alex Molenaar. The climber from EF Education – EasyPost, who became the 160th to wear this jersey created in 1975, is also the first Frenchman to wear it since Lenny Martinez in the 2025 edition.

1794: THE THRILL OF THE PEAKS
The Tour is already gaining altitude. Arriving for the first time in its history at Les Angles, at 1,794 meters above sea level, the Grande Boucle had not encountered a finish line so high so early in the event for... 47 years! We must go back to the third day of the 1979 edition, when the Tour arrived at Superbagnères, at 1,804 meters, also in the Pyrenees. That day, Bernard Hinault won a very steep time trial, starting from Bagnères-de-Luchon, further down the valley.
