28: THE YELLOW JERSEY AFTER THREE YEARS!
From pink to yellow, there's only one step. Winner of the first team time trial with his Visma - Lease a Bike squad, Jonas Vingegaard has returned to wearing the yellow jersey for the 28th time in his career. It had been since his overall victory in 2023 that the Danish rider had not worn the leader's jersey in the general classification. Vingegaard is also following in the footsteps of a certain Miguel Indurain, the last rider, in 1993, to have claimed the very first yellow jersey after winning the Giro in the same year.

2: VINGEGAARD FOLLOWING IN MERCKX'S FOOTSTEPS
For the second time in history, a team time trial has awarded the first yellow jersey of the Tour. You have to go back to 1971 and the Grand Départ in Mulhouse, Alsace, to find a similar event. That year, the Molteni team dominated the 11 km course through the streets of Mulhouse. Eddy Merckx, "the Cannibal", then took the leader's jersey... just like Jonas Vingegaard this Saturday.

2: VISMA - LEASE A BIKE RETAINS THE CROWN
Signing their 75th victory in their Tour de France history near Barcelona's Olympic Stadium, Visma - Lease a Bike maintains its title in the team time trial. The Dutch formation had already won in 2019, when the team time trial was last held on the roads of the Grande Boucle, but with the old format!

27: A NEW KICKOFF OUTSIDE FRANCE
Launching for the first time in its history this Saturday, Barcelona celebrates the 27th Grand Départ abroad of the Grande Boucle, 72 years after the first one in Amsterdam (1954). This is the third start of the competition from Spain, after San Sebastian (1992) and Bilbao (2023).

2: GREEN SURPRISE
It's a jersey he thought he would never wear in his career. After yellow and white, Egan Bernal, a true climber, is dressed in green, being the fastest rider to cross the finish line of the first intermediate sprint (km 5.1). The 2019 Tour winner is the second Colombian to lead the points classification. Only Fernando Gaviria, winner of the first stage in 2018, had led this classification traditionally reserved for sprinters.

23: FIRST TASTE OF YOUTH
An ideal start to the Tour for Juan Ayuso. At 23 years old, the Catalan from Lidl-Trek has claimed his first white jersey in his career. And he is only the second Spaniard, after Jesus Blanco Villar in 1986, to lead the young riders' classification at the end of the first day.

109: TOP 3 MAN
Tadej Pogacar is certainly a podium man. Finishing third in the team time trial with UAE Team Emirates - XRG, the Slovenian has entered the top 3 of the Tour de France general classification for the 109th time. And this in just 127 stages raced! 54 times leader, 45 times second and 10 times third, the two-time world champion has never left the provisional podium from the first day of the 2025 edition (18th).

40.6: PIDCOCK IS ALREADY MAKING WAVES
Tom Pidcock didn't wait to demonstrate his punching qualities. Dancing throughout the course, the British rider devoured the steep 800 m climb at 7% that led to the edge of the Olympic Stadium at an average speed of 40.6 km/h. However, this performance was not enough to claim the polka dot jersey, as times were set for all the last two climbs of the day. And in this battle, it was Slovenian Tadej Pogacar who dominated his opponents.
