The Bahrain Victorious team arrives at the 2026 Tour de France with a balanced squad, built around the primary objective of securing stage victories, without losing sight of the general classification with Antonio Tiberi, who will aim for a top-ten finish.
Supporting Tiberi in the mountains will be Damiano Caruso, leading a group of experienced climbers. In what will be his final Tour de France, Caruso will attempt the rare feat of winning a stage in all three Grand Tours, once again playing a key role in the mountains after the exceptional support he provided to Afonso Eulálio during this year's Giro d'Italia.
Bahrain Victorious presents several options for stage victories: three-time Tour de France stage winner Matej Mohorič returns with the goal of increasing his palmares, while Lenny Martinez has established himself as one of the team's best climbers since joining Bahrain Victorious. The Frenchman has already secured WorldTour stage victories at Paris-Nice (twice), Tour de Romandie and Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and makes no secret of his ambition to also claim the polka dot jersey.
In the flat stages, Phil Bauhaus will lead the team's sprint ambitions, targeting his first Tour de France stage victory. Vlad Van Mechelen will make his Tour de France debut. The young Belgian impressed with an aggressive performance at this year's Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, where he finished third on the second stage after breaking away from the escape group, and will seek to prove his talent in cycling's most important race.
Completing the squad will be experienced road captain Kamil Gradek and Australian Rob Stannard, both capable of providing valuable support throughout the three weeks.
Lenny Martinez stated: "My objective for this Tour de France is to try to bring home a stage victory, while fighting for the polka dot jersey. Antonio will handle our general classification ambitions, while the rest of us will look for the right opportunities to target stage victories. Overall, I believe I'm in good shape this year. I crashed before the Tour de Suisse, but day after day during the race, I felt better and better. Now I feel good and hope to carry these feelings into the Tour de France".
Sports director Roman Kreuziger added: "We arrive at the Tour with a truly balanced team. Our main objective is to fight for stage victories, while supporting Antonio Tiberi in the general classification. We believe he can aim for a top-ten finish. He had an excellent start to the season at the UAE Tour, before a period of inconsistent form, but we believe he's back on track. He showed what he's capable of at the Giro two years ago. The Tour is a different race and it's his first participation, but he has a strong group of experienced riders around him who will support him for all three weeks. This will be Damiano's final Grand Tour and he has recovered from the Giro and is in excellent condition. He spent time recovering at our partner Villars Palace and its fantastic facilities, and arrived at the Tour in sparkling form. He will have a key role in protecting both Antonio and Lenny in the mountains, but will also be motivated to pursue a stage victory and complete the feat of winning in all three Grand Tours".
He continued: "Lenny has made enormous progress from last year and has demonstrated he has taken another step forward both as a rider and as a leader. Our objective with him is to fight for a stage victory, but also to be competitive for the polka dot jersey. Phil Bauhaus is participating in his third Tour de France. He has already come close to a stage victory and we believe he can compete again, having also shown he is willing to work for his teammates when the race demands it. Rob Stannard arrives here after an excellent Giro d'Italia and has incredible endurance. He will be crucial in supporting both Phil and the rest of the team throughout the race. Vlad Van Mechelen is a promising young talent making his Grand Tour debut. This will be an excellent learning experience for him, but we also expect him to play an important role as Phil's final domestique. I believe this Tour could represent another major step in his development. Kamil Gradek is one of the most reliable riders in the group. His teammates have complete confidence in him and once again he will provide crucial support throughout the race. Matej Mohorič has won more Tour de France stages than any other rider in Bahrain Victorious history. Unfortunately, he fell ill during this year's Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, but he has recovered well and we hope to see him back at his best over the next three weeks".
