Finally, we're here! The Giro Next Gen 2026 kicks off from Reggio Calabria: the first stage will take riders to Vibo Valentia after 168 kilometers with 1,200 meters of elevation gain.

The riders will face a challenging stage that, after departing from Reggio Calabria, will follow the Ionian coast down to Locri. They will then tackle the climb of Valico della Limina, the main difficulty of the day but not classified as a categorized climb, followed by crossing the Gioia Tauro plain. The final section is undulating in the Vibonese area with the passage through Mileto, where there will be the first categorized climb of the Giro just over 11 km from the finish in Vibo Valentia.

The last kilometers promise to be quite fast given that they are in a slight descent until the final kilometer.
