Seven days before the Grand Start in Cesenatico, the official entry list for the Giro d'Italia Women has been confirmed. The race will depart on May 30th from the Romagna Riviera and conclude, after 9 stages and 1,179.7 km, in Saluzzo on June 7th.

The podium from the 2025 edition: 1st Elisa Longo Borghini, 2nd Marlen Reusser, 3rd Sarah Gigante. All three are confirmed to start in the women's Corsa Rosa.

THE ASSAULT ON THE PINK JERSEY

A stellar battle for the final Pink Jersey is shaping up, starting with the podium finishers from the 2025 edition: Elisa Longo Borghini (winner for the last two years), Marlen Reusser (current world time trial champion), and Sarah Gigante (two stage wins and mountain classification in 2025), are expected at the start.

They are joined by three major returns: European champion Demi Vollering - winner this season of the Ronde Van Vlaanderen and Liège-Bastogne-Liège - Anna Van der Breggen, victor of four editions of the Corsa Rosa (2015, 2017, 2020 and 2021), and Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney, winner of the 2024 Tour de France Femmes, returning to the Giro after six years since her last participation, which she finished in second place.

SPRINTERS AND STAGE HUNTERS

Great anticipation also surrounds the bunch sprints. The spotlight remains on Lorena Wiebes - five stage wins in three participations, plus the points classification in 2025 - and Charlotte Kool, returning to the Giro after four years. Italian riders Chiara Consonni, winner of three stages from 2022 to 2024, and Elisa Balsamo, world champion in 2021 with two Giro victories, both in 2022, will also attempt to make their mark. Also worth watching is Lara Gillespie, who has made a brilliant start to the season.

The list of athletes seeking partial victories is particularly rich. Keep an eye on world champion Magdeleine Vallieres and debutante Cat Ferguson, born in 2006 but already a protagonist. Also confirmed at the start are Strade Bianche Women Elite winner Elise Chabbey, one of the season's surprises Eleonora Gasparrini, former British national champion Pfeiffer Georgi, and Niamh Fisher-Black, stage winner at Toano in 2024.

TV COVERAGE

RAI will broadcast the race in clear to the national audience every race day. Over two hours of live coverage on Rai2 are scheduled for each stage. Detailed timings will be communicated daily. Additionally, the race will also be broadcast live on Eurosport and on the on-demand platforms Discovery+ and HBO Max.
