The world's best cyclists are once again turning their attention to Philadelphia for the return of the Philadelphia Cycling Classic presented by AmeriGas®, on August 30, 2026. After a 10-year hiatus, the Classic brings elite international cyclists back to Philadelphia's streets to compete in one of the sport's most iconic one-day events. Thirty-two teams have registered for the UCI 1.1 women's and men's races, with seven UCI WorldTour teams in both categories.
"In Philadelphia, sport is synonymous with energy, passion, and connection, and the Philadelphia Cycling Classic delivers all of that," said Carlos Rogers, partner at Race Street Partners and co-owner of the Philadelphia Cycling Classic. "We will bring the stadium to the streets, giving fans the opportunity to experience elite cycling up close and be part of the action in a way that isn't possible in most other sports."
The Philadelphia Cycling Classic presented by AmeriGas® will offer equal prize purses of $75,000 for both the men's and women's races, confirming a long-standing commitment to equity and setting a new standard for prize parity in cycling events across the United States.
"We are thrilled to bring world-class cycling back to Philadelphia," said Robin Morton, race director of the Philadelphia Cycling Classic and CEO and co-founder of g4 Productions. "This race has always held a special place in the cycling world, and seeing it return with such a strong international field speaks to both its history and its future. August 30 will be a celebration of elite competition and the passion this city has for cycling."
The race will once again take place on the distinctive 23.1 km (14.4 mile) circuit through Philadelphia, a course known for its challenging climbs, fast descents, and technical turns that reward both strategy and strength. Long considered one of the most demanding one-day courses in the United States, the route offers spectators multiple opportunities to witness the action up close as the world's best cyclists tackle its iconic terrain: from the majesty of the start/finish line on Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia's Museum District, along Kelly Drive and Boathouse Row following the curves of the Schuylkill River, through the neighborhoods of Roxborough and Manayunk and the grueling 17% gradient climb of the famous Manayunk Wall, and through Fairmount Park where the peloton faces Lemon Hill, a beloved spot for fans.
Together, the women's and men's races will bring a dynamic international field to Philadelphia, featuring UCI WorldTour teams, emerging talent from around the world, and the best national programs.
The women's race will start at 8:30 a.m., with cyclists covering 62 miles (100 km) on the 14.4-mile circuit. The women's competition includes 18 teams – two WorldTour, four Continental, and 12 Elite – representing six countries.
