Bahrain Victorious issued a brief statement late in the evening to update on the physical condition of Santiago Buitrago, who was forced to withdraw today following a crash at the Giro d'Italia. "Following medical evaluations and scans, no fractures were detected and all scans came back negative. Santi suffered several superficial abrasions, bruises to the neck muscles causing limited movement, and a concussion. He will continue to be monitored and will follow the standard SCAT protocol for concussions".
