He crossed the finish line last, but tomorrow his name will disappear from the pink race headlines: Andrea Vendrame will not start in the third stage of the Giro d'Italia. The Italian cyclist - as announced in a statement by Jayco AlUla - suffered a fracture of three transverse processes of the lumbar spine following a serious crash in the final 30 kilometers of today's stage.  Andrea will return to Italy to undergo further medical examinations and begin his recovery process.
