Great news for Team Solution Tech–NIPPO–Rali, which announces the return to racing of Domenico Pozzovivo. After a period away from competition, the Lucanian rider will get back into action at the highest level with the team led by Serge Parsani.
Born in 1982, a pure climber and one of the most respected and longest-serving Italian riders in the peloton, Pozzovivo boasts a career of absolute significance: a professional since 2005, he has achieved a stage victory at the Giro d'Italia and the Giro del Trentino in 2012, along with numerous prestigious placings in major stage races, including 5th place at the 2014 Giro d'Italia and several top 10 finishes at both the Giro and Vuelta.
This operation, strongly desired by Mirko Ferro, CEO of Solution Tech, will be a new starting point for Pozzovivo, with the goal of becoming a protagonist again starting with the Tour of the Alps.
Domenico Pozzovivo: "My decision to return to racing after stepping away from professional cycling may have seemed strange and irrational to many, but it is instead the natural consequence of extremely objective and quantifiable analysis and considerations, linked both to my current condition and to the results that emerged from the work carried out over the past few months. I am grateful to Team Solution Tech–NIPPO–Rali for enthusiastically embracing my challenge, and I will strive to repay their trust with a contribution that combines experience and competitiveness in a cycling world that is increasingly demanding and constantly evolving."
Serge Parsani: "We decided to accept this challenge with great conviction. From our first conversations, we perceived great clarity and awareness in his reasoning, along with already very interesting form. We are enthusiastic about embarking on this journey together and will do everything possible to put him in the best conditions to express himself at his best. For us, he represents an important added value: not only for what he will be able to express in racing, but also for the experience and mentality he will be able to pass on to the younger riders. We are convinced that in an increasingly competitive cycling landscape, an athlete like Pozzovivo can still make a difference."
