The second stage of the Coppi & Bartali Week is being raced and in the province of Lodi the field is wide open for the fast wheels of the peloton. Among the many sprinters at the start, we could also see Matteo Moschetti sprint, who is coming back from his first races in Belgium and an excellent start to the season.
"Last weekend was very demanding for me, I raced in Belgium and got sick, I had a fever, but I'm happy to have recovered and to have arrived at the Coppi & Bartali with my team. We are very motivated to do well and I believe that today there could be an excellent opportunity for me. The stage is very suited to my characteristics, but it won't be easy to keep things under control, especially in the mid-race circuit with the two climbs," Matteo explained to us, having already found the right rhythm yesterday and wanting to absolutely put himself to the test.
Pinarello Q36.5 is certainly one of the most anticipated teams, but today an unknown factor not to be underestimated is the wind, which could deeply affect the outcome of the race. "The forecasts speak of strong wind, I hope it doesn't pick up further because it could be very complicated. We have a very strong and motivated team, today my teammates will all be there for me, but we also have alternatives. The best equipped team is Red Bull Bora, I think they will help us control the breakaway, at least in the early stages. Watch out for Alessio Magagnotti, he is very strong and could be today's surprise," Moschetti concluded.
