Entirely in the Marche region, stage 6 of the Tirreno-Adriatico: the route goes from San Severino Marche to Camerino for 188 km that are decidedly challenging. It is indeed a very undulating stage, tough and with numerous climbs, starting around the halfway point with the Sassotetto climb (Valico di Santa Maria Maddalena, km 65.9).

The route then reaches Camerino climbing from the eastern side of the city to enter the final circuit of 29.1 km to be covered twice. A very tough circuit consisting of a series of ups and downs on Crispiero which, after the turnaround at Castelraimondo, begins to climb gradually until the final 3 km of the Muro della Madonna delle Carceri with gradients up to 18%. At the end of the third climb (all counting as categorized climbs) the finish line is located in the city center.

The Muro della Madonna delle Carceri is a very steep climb with peaks up to 20% in the first and final sections. 350 m from the finish, the cobblestone section begins, which ends under the finish line where the gradients decrease slightly.
