Castelsardo-Bosa is the opening stage of the Giro di Sardegna, which also marks the first day of professional racing on Italian soil. A stage that kicks off a busy spring season featuring, within the span of a month, the Laigueglia, Strade Bianche, Tirreno-Adriatico, Milano-Torino, Sanremo and Settimana Coppi & Bartali in the men's category.

With its nearly 190 km and 2,780 meters of elevation gain, the opening stage promises to be demanding and selective, and is the longest of the five scheduled stages. After a fast start, the route heads inland tackling the climb towards Osilo, the day's first categorized climb, followed by a challenging section at altitude and the descent of Scala di Giocca.
A second categorized climb at Ossi precedes a smoother stretch, with the passage through Alghero requiring attention for its directional changes. At km 119 begins the most demanding climb: approximately 5 km at 8.5% average gradient, designed to create selection before the third and final categorized climb at Villanova Monteleone.
The finale, after a long undulating section, leads to Suni and then towards Bosa: the last 8 km partly downhill with a flat conclusion, featuring two right-hand turns in the final 1,300 and 800 meters before the finishing straight on Viale Alghero.
The stage will be broadcast live on Rai Sport, on HBO Discovery platforms and on the Professional Cycling League's YouTube channel starting at 1:40 PM. As already mentioned, tuttobiciweb will provide you with real-time coverage of the entire stage.
