The Vuelta España is the first Grand Tour of 2026 to assign wild cards and define the participating teams. In addition to the 18 WorldTour teams, three ProTeam formations with invitation rights will be at the start of the Spanish race, namely Tudor Pro Cycling, Pinarello-Q36.5, and Cofidis, while the two wild cards have been assigned to the Spanish teams Burgos Burpellet BH and Equipo Kern Pharma.
No surprises, therefore: the Iberian organizers continue the alternation involving Spanish teams, also facilitated by the fact that Eskaltel Euskadi cannot be invited because it did not enter the top 30 teams in the world in 2025. As for Caja Rural RGA Seguros, as we anticipated, an invitation to the Tour de France is incoming.
