Marius Mayrhofer was involved in an accident 40 km from the finish line during the first stage of the Tour Down Under. Medical examinations confirmed fractures to his right clavicle, shoulder blade, and ribs. Fortunately, surgery will not be necessary.

As confirmed by Team Tudor, the twenty-five-year-old German rider will return to Europe in the coming days, where he will begin his rehabilitation program, starting with physiotherapy.
