Yesterday saw the 2nd day of races in the 4th edition of Cross del Sile at the Industrie PM in Casale sul Sile. This year, the organization managed by Team Bike Santa Cristina chose to divide the event into two days. On Tuesday, youth categories raced with the important novelty of the Team Relay, valid as the Triveneto championship. Yesterday, Masters, Juniors, and Open male and female categories competed. Renzo Pizzolato expressed great satisfaction with the excellent participation. All participants appreciated the course and the hospitality within the race area.
The track was very icy in the first part of the morning, but as hours passed, it presented quite heavy mud that put the athletes to the test.
The Open race was dominated by Nadir Colledani. The experienced athlete, born in 1995, in his last race with the Mondraker Factory Racing jersey, distanced all competitors from the first laps. Behind him, the young Friulian Leonardo Ursella, born in 2006 and representing Jam's Bike, secured second place, demonstrating excellent potential. Cristian Cominelli (Cycling Café) took third place. Filippo Cecchi (Bike Academy Marchini) and Martino Fruet (Team Lapierre) finished fourth and fifth respectively.
In the Women's Open race, Gaia Santin (San Vendemiano) was the fastest. The Venetian athlete, after a poor start, managed to make up many positions and ultimately pulled away from her competitors. Second place went to Lombard Marta Zanga (Ktm Spada). The last podium spot was claimed by Friulian Asia Zontone (Jam's Bike). Among the Junior women, Azzurra Rizzi (Jam's Bike) scored a clear victory.
Among the juniors, Pietro Deon's superiority was evident (DP66 Pinarello). The Treviso athlete quickly distanced his rivals in the initial laps and built a significant lead, securing another seasonal success by crossing the finish line 35 seconds ahead of Friulian Matteo Bulfon (B.Team Cyclocross) and 42 seconds ahead of Bolzano's Alan Zanolini (Zanolini Q36.5).
