During Christmas and St. Stephen's Day, we had the pleasure not only of spending quality time with our loved ones, sheltered from the tasks and thoughts of the other 364 days of the year, but also of enjoying Pogačar, the people's champion produced by Sky Sport. Far be it from us to spoil the entire documentary, which we had already previewed and which includes testimonies from 6 other people related to the Slovenian phenomenon, but we have chosen to condense Tadej's words here: "I've loved cycling since I started racing in 2008, even when I was at the back of the race I thought about how beautiful this sport is and I never wanted to stop. Every year gets better for me, the one just passed was practically perfect and it will be difficult to do better next season. However, I'm not thinking about it, I'm enjoying the moment and taking it race by race: I do my best, we see the final result and the rest doesn't matter. If for some reason I were to stop racing today, I'd be extremely happy with what I have achieved in my career. I've reached a point where I have nothing to win or lose."
THE 3 GRAND TOURS IN THE SAME YEAR "Not easy: besides the 21 stages each, there are all the training camps... too many days away from home! Competing in the five monument classics in the same season is much more feasible. But never say never, maybe one day I'll try to do all the grand tours in a year. Let's be surprised by what the future holds."
CURRENT CYCLING "With mentality, technology and preparation, our generation is taking cycling to a higher level. Everything has improved and especially we riders are obsessed with details."
THE TOUR DE FRANCE STRUGGLES "In those three weeks you really give everything, you enjoy every single day but at the same time you get very tired. When I made certain statements in last year's Tour, I think they caught me in a bad moment."
THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN RWANDA "My approach had ups and downs, I wasn't feeling well the week before returning to racing in Canada and I wasn't in the best conditions for the Kigali ITT dominated by Remco. I was far from happy, but I knew I would redeem myself in the road race to defend the title."
THE RACE THAT STUCK WITH HIM IN 2025 "I carry beautiful memories from many races, however I'll mention one that I didn't win but participated in for the first time in my life: Paris-Roubaix, an indescribable classic, unique in its genre."
HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH F1 DRIVER SAINZ "A great friend... and a great strategist, I know that for Sanremo and Roubaix I'm in good hands and it's going to be fun!"
URSKA ZIGART "Without her, I believe it would have been more difficult to achieve my successes, I can only say a big 'thank you' for our mutual closeness in every step of our careers and lives. Simply amazing."
OTHER IMPORTANT PROJECTS "We started Pogi Team and Pogačar Foundation quite early, still in the middle of my career, so I don't have much time to work with the other people involved and with the children. Both initiatives have started well and I'll be happy, when I retire, to dedicate more time to them."
PUBLIC AFFECTION "It's beautiful to have so many fans who know my name and cheer for me in various parts of the world, including countries with great cycling traditions like France, Italy and Spain, or in places like Colombia where there's fantastic warmth."
