Van Der Poel's fifth symphony in the Belgian theater of Gavere. The World Champion wins the seventh stage of the Cyclocross World Cup, securing his fifth consecutive victory in the UCI World Challenge. The Alpecin Deceuninck rider broke away two laps from the finish after distancing Belgian champion Nys, with whom he had previously gained an advantage from a group of six athletes including Vanthourenhout, Del Grosso, Aerts, and Verstrynge. Van Der Poel's action was clearly superior, and when he decides to accelerate, there's no contest for his opponents. He triumphs ahead of Nys (today in clear recovery) and Tibor Del Grosso. European Champion Aerts finishes fourth.
