With 67 riders from 17 different countries, divided into four teams, GreenEDGE Cycling approaches its fifteenth season with great objectives.
A New Beginning
With a mix of familiar and experienced faces and some new acquisitions, Team Jayco AlUla aims to start from scratch in the new year. The newly appointed Sporting Manager Gene Bates, together with the team's sports directors, will lead a roster of 29 riders balancing youth and experience.
Michael Matthews, Ben O'Connor, Luke Plapp, Mauro Schmid and Paul Double are among the team's winners in 2025, who will continue to aim for success on the biggest stages. Among the nine new riders who will race with GreenEDGE Cycling colors next season are Hamish McKenzie, coming from the Hagens Berman Jayco development team, Alessandro Covi, Pascal Ackermann and Finlay Pickering.
A Growing Project
Led by sports director Wim Stroetinga, Liv AlUla Jayco aims to consolidate a season of progress that saw some exceptional performances and the first stage win in the Women's Tour de France. Athletes like Silke Smulders, Ruby Roseman-Gannon and Monica Trinca Colonel will remain key athletes for the Australian team.
Most of the team will remain the same as 2025, with four new additions completing the roster of 15 athletes. Matilde Vitillo, Mackenzie Coupland and Noë Jansen have all come from the development squad, while the promising young Canadian Nadia Gontova has also joined the team.
A Solid Proving Ground
GreenEDGE Cycling's development teams, Hagens Berman Jayco and Liv AlUla Jayco Women's Continental Team, will continue to provide a proving ground for young talents in 2026. After seeing Jansen, Vitillo, Coupland and McKenzie move to the WorldTour, there are several new faces aiming to grow as athletes in a high-level environment.
Gene Bates, Sporting Manager of Team Jayco AlUla, explains: "Essentially, I think it's a new beginning, a new chapter for the team, which we are excited about. We have several new signings in the group and, together with some of our most experienced riders who have helped shape the team over the years, we are in an ideal position to start this new three-year cycle. There is definitely a positive and ambitious energy in the team and staff, and I believe we are all excited to start the season in January. We are hungry for success and want to win races in 2026, and we want to do so with a clear culture that puts the team first".
Wim Stroetinga, Sporting Manager of Liv AlUla Jayco: "Now we have our team complete and we have become even stronger in every aspect. Our philosophy is to be strong together and use this strength to achieve the best possible results as a team. With these riders, we can certainly play an important role in every race we participate in, in any formation".
