Lucinda Brand conquers the fifth round of the Women's Elite Cyclocross World Cup held today in Antwerp, Belgium. It's the fourth World Cup success for the outstanding Dutch rider of Baloise Glowi Lions, who had to fight hard to overcome a resurgent Ceylin Alvarado (Fenix Deceuninck). The Dutch duo dominated the scene despite the persistent chase by Van Alphen, Pieterse, and Van Anrooij.
Brand secured the victory near the finish line, pulling ahead by a few meters from a brilliant Alvarado. Van Alphen finished third, maintaining her World Cup lead. Pieterse came fourth, and young Czech rider Zemanova fifth. Sara Casasola took seventh place.
