The numbers speak clearly: 97 medals in 2021, 130 in 2022, 122 in 2023, 105 in 2024, and 106 in 2025. These are the successes of Italian cycling during Cordiano Dagnoni's five-year presidency: 560 podiums. That's 44 golds, 31 silvers, and 31 bronzes, with 22 world titles. Dagnoni, who was re-elected for his second term in January, is justifiably radiant in the Honor Hall at Foro Italico alongside CONI president Luciano Buonfiglio: "In 2025, we celebrated 140 years of the Cycling Federation with 106 medals, marking the fourth consecutive year of reaching three-digit medal counts. It was a year where the main objective was not winning medals but investing in young talents with an eye on the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. And yet, our young athletes have also delivered impressive results, and we celebrated them in Rome with a wonderful ceremony that is always gratifying for everyone who has worked hard".

We look ahead with the new team of coaches and Elia Viviani's entry into the national staff.
"Yes, it was a readjustment, there were no major changes, but we had the new piece of Elia to insert into the puzzle, and we had to and wanted to make space for him: I must say that everyone is happy and aware that it was the right choice".

Medals were won in disciplines where they weren't previously achieved, such as eSports: the Cycling Federation not only wins where medals are significant but broadens its view across all cycling domains.
"Absolutely yes, and I like to remember the medals we didn't win but where we came very close to the podium: I'm thinking of trial and indoor cycling. These are disciplines where we don't have a tradition, but we've given them equal dignity and equal interest. The Federation has truly supported everyone in the same way, and results are arriving everywhere".

Regarding facilities: there are important developments.
"We received a Christmas gift with the reopening of the Montichiari velodrome. The seals have been removed, which means we can reopen it for youth activities, cycling teams, and amateur cyclists. Obviously, it remains the home of the National Team for preparation. And then there's the Treviso facility in Spresiano: bureaucracy is finally coming to an end, and soon, already in January, we'll start the first construction lot to begin building this major facility that will be strategic for our cycling".
