The 21 World Tour road races held in 2025 saw victories by 15 different riders. The best was, once again, Tadej Pogacar with 5 triumphs, followed by Mathieu Van der Poel with 3. The Slovenian won Strade Bianche, Tour of Flanders, Flèche Wallonne, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, and Il Lombardy, while the Dutchman won Milan-San Remo, E3 Harelbeke, and Paris-Roubaix.
In total, 12 nations have prevailed at least once in the main UCI road races of 2025. Besides Slovenia and the Netherlands, which dominated thanks to Pogacar and Van der Poel, notable are the two victories by Belgium, Denmark, and the United States, and the single wins from Switzerland, Norway, Colombia, Australia, Ireland, France, and Italy.
Italy celebrated its return to success after almost four years. Thanks to Giulio Ciccone's triumph in the San Sebastian Classic, Italian cycling broke a drought that had lasted 75 consecutive World Tour road races. The last victory dated back to 2021, when Sonny Colbrelli won Paris-Roubaix. In 2025, Italy obtained a total of 7 podiums, including 3 second and 3 third places.
