We have reached the concluding event of the Regional Cyclocross Tour (GRC) 2025/2026: today, the picturesque village of Cantoira, in the heart of the Lanzo Valleys, will be the protagonist with the 5th stage, which is also valid as the 4th Gran Premio Comune di Cantoira and as a test for the "C.I.E. Impianti Termici" Trophy, with the patronage of Piedmont Region, Municipality of Cantoira, Lanzo, Ceronda and Casternone Valleys Union, and Piemonte Sport. A double recognition that confirms the strategic importance of this race in the Piedmontese and national landscape, with the extraordinary presence of former pro Fabio Aru and his Academy.
This final stage will not only be the day when the GRC leader jerseys will be awarded, but also an opportunity to dedicate the race in memory of Romano Scotti, founder of the legendary G.S. Scotti, father of Fausto, Sergio, Mariapia, and Tamara, and inspiration behind the ASD Romano Scotti.
In Memory of Romano Scotti - A Life Dedicated to Cycling
Romano Scotti, who passed away in 2010, was the beating heart of the team founded in 1959 as G.S. Scotti, later renamed in his name to preserve its human and sporting heritage. A man of great values, he carried forward a family tradition spanning four generations of cyclists. Thanks to his vision, prestigious events were organized over time, such as World Cups, Italian Championships, the Cyclocross Giro d'Italia, and numerous Memorials in his name.
A true pioneer, Romano marked an era in Italian cyclocross, leaving behind a legacy of organization and passion capable of enduring over time. Dedicating the final stage of the GRC in Cantoira to his memory means recognizing the scope of his commitment and honoring a pillar of the cycling movement.
