The Union Cycliste Internationale announces that the Azerbaijani cyclist Artyom Proskuryakov has been informed of an Adverse Analytical Result for Methamphetamine (D-) and its metabolites* in two samples collected - following intelligence-led testing - during the 2025 UCI Road World Championships (Male Junior Road Race) on September 23, 2025.
In accordance with UCI Anti-Doping Rules, the cyclist has been provisionally suspended. He has the right to request analysis of the B samples.
The UCI delegated its anti-doping program to the International Testing Agency (ITA) in January 2021, while maintaining the management of results and prosecution for anti-doping rule violations. Since then, the clean sport efforts in cycling have been led by the ITA Cycling Unit, specifically dedicated to all cycling disciplines. The UCI and ITA are bound by a service agreement that ensures the ITA operates independently.
* Methamphetamine (D-) and its metabolites are Prohibited Substances listed in class S6 - Unspecified Stimulants - of the 2025 Prohibited List maintained by the World Anti-Doping Agency and adopted by the UCI.
