Thibau Nys puts his stamp on the X2O Badkamers Trophy in Hamme. The Belgian champion managed to get the better of British rider Cameron Mason in the final lap, who had "split" the race midway and put Nys in difficulty. Third place went to the series leader Joris Nieuwenhuis, who fell at the first corner and was the protagonist of a comeback that saw him finish on the podium.
Absent due to an illness contracted during the night, European champion Toon Aerts, the race saw Niels Vandeputte and Tom Meeusen take the lead at the start, while, as mentioned, Joris Nieuwenhuis crashed and was forced to immediately change his bicycle and give chase.
Mason surprised everyone midway through the race, forcing Nys into a tough pursuit: the Belgian then caught up with the Briton, tried to drop him, but only succeeded with a long sprint that allowed him to cross the finish line with his arms raised.
