OSCAR TUTTOBICI. THE ENCORE OF NICOLE BRACCO, A ROOKIE WHO GROWS TO THE RHYTHM OF MUSIC

If she could use a song to describe her 2025, Nicole Bracco would have no doubts and would choose Ye@h by Thasup, one of her favorite artists who gives her the right boost to face every race. In the just-concluded season, she hit the mark 20 times, many successes that led her to win the Oscar tuttoBICI Gran Premio Androni Giocattoli for rookie girls for the second consecutive time.

With the jersey of Sc Cesano Maderno, Nicole collected many beautiful satisfactions, was moved, and made her team rejoice: she finally managed to reach the Italian title she had been dreaming of for many years. "I didn't expect to do better than last year, but it happened and it was beautiful, especially because I improved. Winning the Italian championship was a dream, I had been waiting for two years, and I finally achieved it; we raced in Gorizia on a very challenging course with many climbs, and I had fun. I have many beautiful memories of 2025, not just victories, but also placements that pushed me to commit even more, and then came victory number 20 with the last race. I treated myself to celebrating by pointing to 20 at the finish line," Nicole tells us, who often shared her successes with her companion and trusted friend Aurora Cerame. In Gorizia, they both won the Italian jersey, one as a second-year rookie, the other as a first-year.

Nicole Bracco comes from a family of cyclists: both mom Chiara and dad Davide used to ride bikes, yet her adventure began in a completely casual way. "Actually, my dad didn't want me to do cycling because, having practiced it, he knows how much effort is behind it, but I couldn't help it. Every year in the municipality of Savigliano, they organize an event where they present different sports in the square, and I saw a bike and fell in love. Every time I pedal, I have a lot of fun, I love discovering new places, and I particularly love racing in the rain. Some get scared, while I get pumped up on wet roads. But don't make me do cyclocross because I don't like mud," Nicole tells us, then letting out a laugh.

Since last year, she has started dedicating herself to track cycling, trying speed and madison, but she would also like to try keirin and team pursuit. Her sister Marissa, 3 years younger, has also started pedaling, and the whole family strongly supports her at every race: "Mom and dad often exaggerate with their cheering, but it's nice like this because they make me feel they're there. When we don't have races on the weekend, we all four go on a bike trip. I think it's one of the things I like most of all; I love cycling precisely for this reason."

Nicole dreams of her future as a professional athlete and isn't afraid to think big and enter that world of champions and legends. One day, she would like to wear the blue jersey, be at the start of the world championship and the Olympics to breathe that special atmosphere and try to leave her mark. Her project for the future is to continue the road and track combination to improve and challenge herself. Meanwhile, she is inspired by the greats. In the male panorama, she admires Jonathan Milan and Remco Evenepoel, while in the female field, her reference athletes are Elisa Balsamo and Elisa Longo Borghini: she loves their strength of never giving up, of chasing every victory, and hopes to become like them.

Cycling races on television are the order of the day in the Bracco household, but the most beautiful way to follow cycling remains going out on the road, finding strategic points, and applauding everyone. "One of the most beautiful memories is linked to Milan-Sanremo, we went to the top of the Poggio, right at the point where they descended, and we saw the entire group pass by. It was fantastic. This year, instead, with my whole family, we went up to Prato Nevoso for the Vuelta stage. There were fans all along the climb with many signs and colorful jerseys. What struck me the most was seeing many people who normally didn't follow cycling, yet they were on the road supporting the riders. They didn't know them, but they were applauding and even got some water bottles as souvenirs of the day."

Nicole Bracco has just started high school and from 2026 will debut in the junior category: many new challenges await her, and she can't wait to face them with a smile and to the rhythm of music.
