For the second year in a row Mattia Agostinacchio is the European Cyclocross Champion. In his first season in the under 23 category, the Valle d'Aosta rider from EF Education EasyPost, who in 2024 had won the junior title in Pontevedra and then became world champion last February in Lievin (France), delivered an exceptional recovery in the last two laps, climbing from seventh position to the head of the race. The Italian's comeback was incredible, to the point that Agostinacchio managed to drop all his rivals and triumph solo to the applause of the Belgian crowd in Middelkerke.
A great triumph for the 18-year-old from Aosta, who wins with a 16" margin over Dutchman David Haverdings and 20" over Belgian Kay De Bruyckere. Twelfth place for the other Italian, Stefano Viezzi.
