After being a protagonist at the recent Tour de Langkawi - concluding fourth in the general classification - Nicolas Vinokurov has signed a contract extension with XDS Astana until the end of the 2027 season. Twenty-three years old as of last July 7th, the Kazakh athlete has distinguished himself this season by winning the mountain classification at the Tour of Austria and frequently attacking during the Vuelta Espana.
Asian U23 time trial champion last season and national champion in the same discipline in 2023, Nicolas narrowly missed the podium in the elite national road championship won by Yevgeniy Fedorov.
"In the next two years, my main goal is to start winning races. I believe in myself and my abilities, and I'm confident I can achieve victories at the professional level - this is my primary objective for the future. I just finished my season at the Tour de Kyushu in Japan, but I'm already thinking about the upcoming one."
