"After the success of the Marco Pantani Memorial and Giro dell'Emilia for men and women, we face a challenging double appointment – says GS Emilia's patron Adriano Amici - but we are truly honored to contribute to two races that, I am certain, will become calendar classics. The hosting territory, involving the municipalities of Valdengo, Biella, Candelo, Quaregna Cerreto, Vigliano Biellese, Ponderano, Gaglianico, Sandigliano and Cossato, whom I thank, has a great tradition and authentic love for cycling, supported by passionate and always present administrators.
Sincere thanks also go to the institutions making this possible: the Professional Cycling League, the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Tourism, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Department for Equal Opportunities of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Minister for Sports and Youth, and the Piedmont Region. Their support is fundamental to continue growing events capable of enhancing our territory and the passion for this extraordinary sport."
THE ROUTE
The Textile & Fashion Trophy takes place on a fascinating and selective route, with the finish located in front of the famous Oropa Sanctuary. The men's race (starting at 10:40, expected arrival around 14:45) measures 170.9 kilometers, while the women's elite race (starting at 14:30, arrival around 17:00) covers 95.3 kilometers.
Both competitions include a 37.8-kilometer circuit, to be repeated four times for men and twice for women, before the final section leading to the Oropa climb. The route alternates long straightaways and more technical sections, with several urban crossings, sharp curves and consecutive roundabouts, but also wide, smooth segments in open countryside. Light undulations and some short descents with hairpin turns make the circuit dynamic but without excessive difficulties.
After completing the scheduled laps, riders will leave the circuit towards Biella to tackle the final 12.5 kilometers, almost entirely uphill towards the Oropa Sanctuary. The climb measures approximately 11.8 km, with an average gradient of 6.2% and peaks up to 13% in the central sections: a challenging and consistent climb, made famous by many Giro d'Italia stages, which will offer a spectacular and selective finale for the Textile & Fashion Trophy.
The race will be broadcast on Raisport HD at 15:30.
