Today, several professional cycling stars will perform on the roads of Tuscany. Starting at 11:30, the Tour of Tuscany (189.400 km) will take place with start and finish in Pontedera. The route favors rouleurs and climbing specialists.

After the start, the protagonists will face the climbs of Casciana Alta, Santo Pietro in Belvedere and the Peccioli hill three times. The final of the Tuscany race is very challenging, with 2 passages at the 613 meters of Monte Serra.

Starting with number 1 is the French rider Clement Champoussin, winner of the "Tuscany" 2024. Champoussin is from the XDS-Astana team, which can aim for victory also with Brescian Christian Scaroni, leader of the Regions Cup. Scaroni comes from a 2nd place in the GP of Larciano. Additionally, XDS-Astana will heavily rely today on Tuscan Diego Ulissi galvanized by the home advantage.

The main favorite is however Isaac Del Toro, 21 years old, Mexican from Uae Emirates-XRG, who in Larciano signed his tenth victory of 2025. The Uae Emirates at the Tour of Tuscany is a genuine artillery. They can aim for success in Pontedera also with Jan Christen, Swiss triumphant in Italy in a Tour of the Apennines, and also Alessandro Covi and Stake Vegard Laengen can make themselves felt in the finale.

Cofidis DS Roberto Damiani hopes for the winning surge of Stefano Oldani or Sylvain Moniquet. Starting with number 32 is Danish Michael Valgren who in 2021 won the Tour of Tuscany and Gran Premio di Peccioli-Coppa Sabatini. He is the only one in history to boast victory in both races of the challenge dedicated to Alfredo Martini in the same year. Valgren is from EF Education-Easypost, a team that can also count today on the glorious Richard Carapaz and former World Champion Alberto Rui Costa.

Lorenzo Rota is the leader of Intermarchè-Wanty, Felix Engelhardt (Germany) has important finisseur qualities and Jayco-AlUla revolves around him, Davide Formolo and South American Nairo Quintana are at the head of the Movistar team. "My diamond point is Aleksandr Vlasov", exclaims Cesare Benedetti, DS of Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe. In the team of German matrix there is Gianni Moscon who won the "Tuscany" in 2018 in Pontedera. The Tudor of DS Claudio Cozzi is captained by Australian Michael Storer, 2nd in Pontedera in 2024.
