Egan Bernal will be the captain of Ineos Grenadiers in the final Grand Tour of 2025. Along with the Colombian, the British team has selected a versatile and powerful squad, which includes among others world champions Michal Kwiatkowski and Filippo Ganna. Bob Jungels, fresh from a stage win at the Tour of Austria, and Magnus Sheffield, stage winner at Paris-Nice, add significant firepower to the team. Victor Langellotti, recent stage winner at the Tour of Poland, makes his Grand Tour debut with Ineos. With nearly 54,000 meters of elevation throughout the race, Brandon Rivera and Lucas Hamilton - who both raced the Giro d'Italia this year alongside Bernal - are ready to play a key role in supporting him during the three weeks.
Egan Bernal stated: "I'm enjoying the challenge of leading the INEOS Grenadiers at this year's Vuelta. It's a race that always offers aggressive and unpredictable stages, which is what I like. My preparation has been good and we have a mix of Grand Tour winners, strong support, and hungry guys wanting to make their mark: we can be confident. Starting from Italy, and particularly Piedmont, gives me an extra motivation after many special moments experienced there".
Performance Director Dr. Scott Drawer added: "The Vuelta always delivers unpredictable races and this squad offers us a variety of options. Egan enters the race as captain, supported by a group that combines climbing strength, time trial power, and experience. It's a team that can compete in a style consistent with our approach at both the Giro and Tour de France. We can't wait to start racing".
