At the "Attilio Pavesi" Velodrome, the third day of the Fiorenzuola International Grand Prix - 6 Days of White Roses saw the start of Elite category races, male and female, with two exciting and competitive omnium events that, due to the high number of entries, both had to go through a points race prologue to qualify for the main event.
ACEF GP - MEN'S ELITE OMNIUM: SWISS VOGEL AHEAD OF ITALIANS GALLI AND STELLA
Balance and continuous overtaking also characterized the Men's Elite Omnium (ACEF Grand Prix), where Swiss rider Alex Vogel made a remarkable comeback with an outstanding points race that overturned the podium. After partial victories by Savekin (Scratch), Galli (Tempo Race), and Walsh (Elimination), the standings seemed wide open. Vogel gained a decisive lap together with Italian Galli and secured second place in the final sprint, thus taking the lead with 133 points. Galli finished second with 123 points, with another Italian, Davide Stella, bravely defending his position in the final battle.
FERRI INTONACI E MALTE GP - WOMEN'S ELITE OMNIUM: MESSANE BRAUTIGAM TRIUMPHS AMONG THE ELITE
In the Ferri Intonaci e Malte Grand Prix, Women's Elite Omnium, German Messane Bräutigam confirmed her dominance at the "Pavesi" velodrome, assertively winning a competitive and uncertain race until the final sprint. After an afternoon where France had shone with victories by Fortin (Scratch) and Borras (Tempo Race), and with Fortin also prominent in the Elimination, the Points Race decided everything: Bräutigam coolly managed her initial advantage and, with a second-place finish in the last sprint, fended off attacks from Borras and Kajihara, securing her fourth personal success in three days.
Tonight the following races are scheduled, with finals starting at 9 PM:
Women's Elite Scratch - Inox 80 GP
Men's Elite Points Race - Aura GP
Women's Elite Elimination - Arda Natura GP
