If it weren't true, it might sound like a joke... Kevin Vauquelin fought with all his might - sometimes even beyond his limits - at the Tour de France, which he finished with an impressive seventh place. Then he returned home for a few days of rest and became the victim of a domestic accident that cost him a fracture!
His team, Arkéa - B & B Hotels, announced it without going into the details of the incident, speaking of a fracture of the distal end of the fibula, a bone lesion affecting the lower part of the bone, near the ankle.
The team writes that the duration of his absence will be communicated later, but typically for this injury, treatment does not require surgery but immobilization of the limb for six weeks.
