
Haimar Etxebarria, riding for Equipo Kern Pharma, scores the winning move in the Vuelta Castilla y Leon, raced from Laguna de Duero to Peñafiel over 201.1 km. On the final climb, the 21-year-old Spanish rider obtained his first professional victory, beating Jesus Herrada (Cofidis) and Christian Scaroni (XdS Astana).
THE RACE. The breakaway by Ivan Loaisa (Spanish selection), Asier Gonzalez (Balears Arabay), Viacheslav Ivanov (Pingtan) and Adam Lewis (Skyline) ended 2.5 kilometers from the finish line, survivors of a breakaway that also included Nichol Pareja (Victoria Sports) and Liam Flanagan, Lewis's teammate.
