STAGI'S RATINGS. VAN DER POEL DELIVERS SPECTACLE, TADEJ AND JONAS READY FOR DUEL, ONLEY IS THE REVELATION

DIRECTOR'S RATINGS | 15/07/2025 | 16:37
di Pier Augusto Stagi

ALPECIN-DECEUNINCK. 9. Two stage wins and the first yellow jersey in Lille. The start is remarkable, and the continuation isn't bad either. Only a pity for Jasper Philipsen, a victory with the yellow jersey, but then forced to withdraw due to a crash. A bad crash. Beautiful is the continuation of the story carried forward by Van der Poel who wins a stage and wears yellow twice: first for three days, then for one. First ten days of Tour rated 9.

INTERMARCHÉ-WANTY. 4. They start well, with a substantial second place in the Lille sprint with Girmay, then they get stuck. Only three top-ten placements, always and only with the Eritrean rider. Last place in the special team classification: they could have done better.

UNO X MOBILITY. 8. They show themselves and collect six top-ten placements. A young and enterprising team, with Johannessen also in 10th place overall: not bad.

TEAM TOTALENERGIES. 5. Only one top-ten placement with Turgis (4th in the first stage), 14th overall with Jegat: they're at the bare minimum.

TUDOR PROCYCLING TEAM. 6.5. They are among the youngest teams in the Tour, in the sense that they have no history, but they make themselves seen in every situation. They occupy the group and fill the eyes. Seven top-ten placements and many opportunities narrowly missed.

GROUPAMA FDJ. 5.5. Five top-ten placements and Guillaume Martin in the top fifteen zone. Some placements, five, to be seen, but more is needed to be noticed.

TEAM VISMA LEASE A BIKE. 9. Lots of work, as many ambitions. Many placements (12) and a significant victory (with Simon Yates), even if what interests them is much heavier. They have Jonas Vingegaard where he should be, even if he could have been closer. But distances are also optical illusions.

INEOS GRENADIERS. 6. Three placements, Carlos Rodriguez close to the top ten, when the Tour practically begins: theirs.

UAE TEAM EMIRATES XRG. 9. Four days in the yellow jersey, lost and retaken twice. Nine placements with two stage wins. They do what they probably planned to do, arrive at the rest well, even if Almeida is missing from the roll call, who went to rest against his will.

TEAM PICNIC POSTNL. 8.5. Ten days as protagonists with the true revelation of this Tour, Onley. Six top-ten placements, a 7th place overall with the 22-year-old Scot. Good, very good.

DECATHLON AG2R LA MONDIALE. 6.5. Not very flashy, ready to be seen. Felix Gall is there, on the launching pad. For now, a controlled and maintenance race. Only three placements, but the determination to collect something more is there.

ARKEA B&B HOTELS. 8. For a team with an expiration date, what stands out is that they race without a tomorrow, thinking about today. Always in the midst of the race (they are fifth in the special team classification), they are there with Vauquelin, who is still among the top ten, even if for them now the most difficult part begins. Advice: think day by day.

XDS ASTANA. 5. Very difficult start, unconvincing, with only two top-ten placements and the first rider in the classification over half an hour back. Urgent to recover.

LOTTO. 4. Second to last as a team, two top-ten placements and nothing more.

SOUDAL QUICK-STEP. 9. Ten stages and three victories. Five top-ten placements, so the achievement rate is very high. Then, high in the classification, there is Remco Evenepoel. He is there, on the third step of the podium, ready to invent something.

LIDL TREK. 7.5. Mattias Skjelmose is still a bit behind, but in these ten days Luca Guercilena's boys were often ahead. Five placements, a stage win with Milan, a green jersey that weighs but is on robust shoulders. Now we climb, Jonny doesn't have to fear changing gears: the Pyrenees must be climbed, before the Alps.

BAHRAIN VICTORIUS. 5.5. Third from last in the team classification. The polka dot jersey on the shoulders of the son and grandson of art Lenny Martinez, a boy grown up savoring the family Fanini's passion. Dad raced with Ivano, Lenny races in the name of many who have seen him grow. He is currently the only good news.

ISRAEL PREMIER TECH. 5. For now a Tour of suffering, made of waiting: that of his riders.

RED BULL BORA HANSGROHE. 6.5. A race of pursuit. Two placements, but two riders in the top ten: Roglic and Lipowitz. No one is talking about them, they could make people talk.

MOVISTAR TEAM. 6. Enric Mas is far from the yellow jersey, but not far from the contest. A team ready to enter the scene.

TEAM JAYCO ALULA. 6. They don't spare themselves and collect less than they sow. O'Connor struggles but is in the zone.

EF EDUCATION EASYPOST. 8. A stage win with Healy, now also dressed in yellow and the possibility of staying in the midst of the race for a while longer, perhaps even until the end.

COFIDIS. 4. Emanuel Buchman a quarter of an hour back. One top-ten placement with Coquard (7th), second to last in the team rankings: in short, tourists at the Giro, on a trip at the Tour.
