It will be a memorable edition of the King Stelvio Mapei 2025, preparing to celebrate a triple, historic anniversary. On Sunday, July 13th, cyclists and running enthusiasts will gather in Bormio to tackle the iconic climb towards Stelvio Pass, in an event that this year celebrates its 40th anniversary, 20 years of partnership with Mapei and 200 years since the opening of the Stelvio road.
Born 40 years ago in 1985, the event has become an unmissable appointment for those who love sports and mountains, attracting participants from around the world ready to challenge themselves on a 21-kilometer route with an elevation gain of 1,533 meters, immersed in one of the most spectacular Alpine landscapes.
The rich program of King Stelvio Mapei will start at 8:50 with the non-competitive cycling gathering for e-bikes, supported by the slogan "MORE STELVIO FOR EVERYONE".
At 9:00, it will be the turn of the 21 km road race for Fidal or Propaganda Entity members, followed by a running event open to all. The competitive cycling races will see female categories starting at 9:15 and male categories at 9:30. Following this, the Mapei Cicloraduno Memorial Aldo Sassi will offer members and non-members the opportunity to pedal in the company of sports personalities.
The King Stelvio Mapei is much more than a competition: it is a day that celebrates the values that Mapei has always shared with the world of sports: passion, effort, constant commitment, and team spirit. These principles, which have guided Mapei in its industrial success story, are the same that drive athletes along the Stelvio hairpin turns.
This special edition also represents an opportunity for Mapei to confirm its deep and lasting connection with cycling, a commitment that has continued for over 30 years and will see the Milan-based company once again as the Main Partner of UCI in the Road Cycling World Championships to be held from September 21st to 28th in Kigali, Rwanda.
