Today the fifteenth stage of the Giro d'Italia 108 will start from Fiume Veneto (Pordenone). Also this year, for the 23rd consecutive year, Banca Mediolanum is the official sponsor of the Mountain Grand Prix, reconfirming its bond with the Blue Jersey and one of the most beloved sporting events by Italians.
Confirmed for 2025 is a new edition of "A Ride in the Giro", the amateur cycling initiative dedicated to clients and cycling enthusiasts, organized by Banca Mediolanum along the Giro d'Italia stages. A unique opportunity to experience the Giro atmosphere firsthand, anticipating the race and cycling alongside the great champions who made Italian cycling history: Alessandro Ballan, Paolo Bettini and Dalia Muccioli.
The appointment is on Sunday, May 25th in Asiago, at the Mediolanum stand in Piazza Delle Poste, at 11:15 AM. The cycling ride will start at 12:00, with arrival expected on the line where professionals will compete for victory shortly after, following a 32 km mountain route. The initiative was organized by Claudio Licheri, West Triveneto Regional Manager of Banca Mediolanum.
"STORIES ON TWO WHEELS: A CHAMPION'S WORD". In Asiago, in 1993, Maurizio Fondriest - today a Banca Mediolanum testimonial - narrowly missed a milestone that could have changed his career: second in the sprint, beaten by Dmitri Konychev in a tight finish. With that victory, he would have won the pink jersey, a symbol he never had the honor of wearing despite his great successes.
Francesco Moser - historic Banca Mediolanum testimonial - is also connected to this land by an intense memory. It was 1974 when, in one of the toughest stages of his career, the group tackled Monte Grappa from the opposite side compared to this year. An extremely challenging day, with attacks from the start and a legendary finish in Bassano del Grappa, where he was beaten in the sprint by Eddy Merckx.
From these emotions comes "Stories on Two Wheels: A Champion's Word", the new space curated by Banca Mediolanum. In each stage, one of our testimonials will share a memory, an anecdote, a personal connection with the places crossed by the Giro. A collective narrative made of roads, effort and beauty, where every pedal stroke speaks of passion, memory and pride.
"FRAGILE, BUT POWERFUL". FONDAZIONE MEDIOLANUM'S PROJECT FOR THE FUTURE OF CHILDREN WITH NEUROLOGICAL DISABILITIES
In 2025, Fondazione Mediolanum renews its commitment to childhood by supporting "Fragile, but Powerful", the new fundraising campaign of the year. The project aims to guarantee 1,064 children with complex neurological conditions and their families a personalized rehabilitation and support path, in collaboration with three excellent organizations: Fondazione Don Gnocchi, Fondazione Fight The Stroke and Fondazione TOG.
"Fragile, but Powerful" targets minors living with cognitive, motor and communication difficulties, caused by genetic, congenital lesions or perinatal trauma. The campaign will offer them access to innovative rehabilitation treatments, integrated with traditional techniques, with the goal of bringing out and enhancing their unexpressed potential. The project also includes a dedicated psychological support path for parents, to help them in the delicate task of raising and supporting a child with complex disabilities. Also this year, Fondazione Mediolanum will double the first 60,000 euros collected, multiplying the impact of each donation.
The Giro d'Italia will be a special opportunity to raise awareness across the entire national territory, bringing the project's message directly to people and promoting a culture of care and inclusion.
