Drawing from his experience, Valerio Piva is cautious about today's stage: "It's a challenging segment where we'll need to be alert from the start. There's a very demanding finale, and I'm thinking of riders who want to try and break away. Pedersen is one of the favorites, and we'll also need to watch out for Pidcock. Today anything is possible, we can't fall asleep at the start and we must be present in the finale. We're counting on our young riders De Pretto and Engelhardt, who have started the Giro well and, most importantly, have a lot of hunger to perform".
