
He came in last, but he made it. And he did so with a broken wrist. Soren Kragh Andersen finished today's stage 10'55" behind Casper van Uden and as soon as he reached the Lidl Trek team bus, the pink jersey team, he was taken to the Lecce hospital where X-rays revealed a wrist fracture.
The team's brief statement reads: "We are sorry to announce that Søren Kragh Andersen has suffered a wrist fracture following a crash in the fourth stage of the Giro d'Italia. He will not be able to continue racing and will return home to recover".
