Last night, in the evocative setting of the Stella Maris Hotel in Marina di Ginosa, the event "Stories on Pedals - Cycling as a School of Life" was held, a public meeting dedicated to the educational, social, and cultural value of sport, with particular attention to cycling and its most significant stories. Just hours before the awaited Giro d'Italia stage and the start of Giro-E, the Ginosa community gathered for a moment of reflection and sharing, between memory and sporting passion.
The special guest of the evening was Gianni Bugno, two-time World Champion, who retraced some episodes of his sporting career, testifying that cycling is not just competition, but also sacrifice, resilience, and personal growth. His words moved the audience, once again confirming that the Monza champion is never ordinary.
Alongside him, institutional voices reiterated the importance of investing in sport and promoting healthy lifestyles, especially among young people. Participating in the meeting were Ginosa Mayor Vito Parisi, Hon. Vito De Palma, Hon. Roberto Pella (President of Professional Cycling League), Sports Councilor Vincenzo Piccenna, and Fabio Vegni, coordinator of the 2025 Regions Cup.
A particularly touching moment was the presentation of the commemorative plaque in memory of Nino Panetta, historic President of the Marinese Cycling Association, a symbol of passion and dedication to cycling in the territory.
The meeting also highlighted the synergy between local administrators and parliamentary representatives, united in the goal of making sport increasingly central to community life. An important step on the path to May 14th, when Marina di Ginosa will be the protagonist of the Giro d'Italia, ready to welcome the pink race with enthusiasm and pride.
