The countdown to the 54th edition of the Nove Colli Granfondo is on, scheduled for Sunday May 18th, but the event's atmosphere will already ignite from Friday, May 16th with the official opening of the Nove Colli Village in Piazza Andrea Costa: the beating heart of a weekend that unites sport, passion, sustainability, and community spirit.
Once again, the Nove Colli confirms itself as one of the most prestigious and international events in the amateur cycling calendar, with participants from 43 countries who will color the roads of Romagna, transforming Cesenatico into a global two-wheel capital. An authentic international cycling community will gather to share a unique challenge on iconic routes, through breathtaking landscapes and legendary climbs.
But Nove Colli is more than just a race: it's an experience.
The Nove Colli Village, open on May 16th and 17th from 9 AM to 9 PM, will be the meeting point for all participants and enthusiasts, with race packet pickup, sponsor stands, stage activities, and unmissable moments. Saturday morning will kick off with an Enervit-branded social ride, led by two exceptional guests: Fabio Aru, the "Knight of the Four Moors" who won the Vuelta a España in 2015 and was a protagonist in both the Giro d'Italia (2nd in 2015, 3rd in 2014) and the Tour de France (5th in 2017, with a stage win and wearing the yellow jersey for two days) and Tim Wellens, a Belgian professional cyclist from UAE Team Emirates – XRG, with 39 career victories including 4 Grand Tour stage wins (two at the Giro d'Italia in 2016 and 2018 and two at the Vuelta a España in 2020).
In the afternoon, at 2:30 PM, space will be dedicated to the youngest with the Mini Nove Colli by Gobik, an ecological ride for girls and boys aged 7 to 14, on the new Villamarina Cycling Track circuit. A free opportunity to let young people experience the Nove Colli emotion, in the spirit of sports education and sharing.
At 5:00 PM, the "Most Loyal" Awards by MET will take place, while at 7:00 PM the spotlight will be on the presentation of the Dream Team #NoveColli4Children, the solidarity initiative that has long linked the event to social projects in the territory.
Great attention is also given to the theme of sustainability: the Nove Colli 2025 has obtained the prestigious Eco Certified Event certification from Legambiente, thanks to continuous commitment towards a responsible event model. Among the adopted practices: sustainable wooden medals, reduction of single-use plastic, zero-kilometer pasta party with compostable dishes, and a Green Team for environmental monitoring. A concrete commitment that also translates into offsetting 50 tons of CO₂, through an internationally certified reforestation project in Indonesia.
The Nove Colli Granfondo is not simply a cycling race. It is a crossroads of cultures, generations, and good practices. It is the spirit of Romagna embracing the world.
