
Among the Tuscan juniors, the music remains the same, even if the performers change. The latest in this splendid series is Marco Spanio from Prato, who was expected to achieve his first seasonal victory after previously obtaining two second places and a third. It was another domination in the traditional May First race in Calenzano. The race was controlled from the beginning until Spanio's solo attack, reaching the finish line with about twenty seconds advantage over the group, which was settled for the honor places by his teammates Agnini and Luci, while Roggi, winner on April 25th in Greve in Chianti, and Scappini finished sixth and seventh. 64 juniors at the start, with two notable mentions for Paris and Dell'Olio, who finished 4th and 5th respectively.
