Syncrasis, from the Greek "mixing, fusion", is a useful mechanism because it creates something new, often interesting. Thus, gravel plus Valtellina makes
"Gravellina" a cycling event that blends sports practice and territory. In a few letters, there's community, landscapes and traditions, dirt roads,
cobblestones and asphalt, Alps.

The II edition of Gravellina - Rural Roads is Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September 2025. The pre-harvest bike weekend confirms the format of three unsupported gravel routes of varying difficulty and mileage, designed from Ardenno to Villa di Tirano through all production areas of Valtellina Nebbiolo. The center of Gravellina is the city of Sondrio.

ROUTES
The common thread, Nebbiolo-tinted, are the rural roads of an authentic and little-known Valtellina, an up and down – with some truly Alpine climbs – between the Retic slope and the valley floor at the foot of the Orobie. Here and there vineyards and apple orchards, buckwheat fields and – as connecting points – castles, bridges, villages and churches.

1/2 Gravellina - East (long route), 1/2 Gravellina - West (medium route), 1/4 Gravellina (short route). The routes – currently being updated – were highly praised by those who cycled at Gravellina 2024. «A mix of any terrain Days Off Outdoor can be cycled on, all immersed in a breathtaking territory. Routes that are anything but ordinary and captivating in all their facets», as a participant summarized.

The 2025 tracks include new points of naturalistic and historical-cultural interest, but some spots are necessary, almost essential: Castel Grumello in a privileged position over Sondrio, the mills of Teglio, the monumental Santa Casa of Tresivio, the Cassandre Footbridge suspended almost 100 meters above the Mallero stream. Equally mandatory stops are the refreshment points with Valtellina products and producers.

Gravellina is also e-Bike in Vineyard, the Sunday tour with Bike Bernina guides designed as a taste of Valtellina and gravel spirit. The e-mtb tour shares the main spots – terraces included – with the other routes, with the plus that the guides act as Ciceroni.
