Today, at the RCS MediaGroup headquarters in Milan, the ceremony for the delivery of Toyota vehicles, Official Mobility Partner and Official Car of the Giro d'Italia, took place for the seventh consecutive year alongside the Pink Caravan.

Toyota delivered an electrified fleet of over 60 vehicles equipped with all technologies: from Full Hybrid to Plug-in Hybrid, extending to Full Electric with bZ4X and the Fuel Cell Mirai sedan. This demonstrates Toyota's multi-technological approach, which aims to offer customers worldwide a wide range of solutions to concretely and quickly reduce CO2 emissions.

The ceremony was attended by RCS MediaGroup President, Urbano Cairo, and Toyota Motor Italia CEO, Alberto Santilli.

Urbano Cairo, RCS MediaGroup President: "The Giro d'Italia is much more than a race: it's a journey through the beauties of our country, a story of passion, challenge, and progress. That's why we are happy to have Toyota by our side once again, a partner who shares our vision and enthusiasm. Together, we are advancing towards a more sustainable future, where innovation and respect for the environment pedal in the same direction. The electrified fleet that will accompany the Pink Race is a concrete symbol of this commitment and, at the same time, a leap towards what is to come."

Alberto Santilli, Toyota Motor Italia CEO: "Toyota continues to proudly and satisfactorily support the Giro d'Italia, strengthening the deep connection with the life and passions of Italians, contributing to the protection of our extraordinary territory and, at the same time, supporting athletes' performance in a sport where the automobile is an integral part of the race. Our technologies guarantee maximum sustainability, safety, performance, and driving pleasure, combining innovation and accessibility, as they are always designed with people at the center. We have always believed in sustainable, inclusive, and safe mobility that ensures our customers the freedom to choose the path most suitable for their needs. That's why we passionately commit to tracing a progressive and conscious path towards a zero-emission future through our Full Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid solutions, moving towards Full Electric and even Hydrogen Fuel Cell technology."

The protagonist of the 108th edition of the Giro d'Italia will be Plug-in Hybrid technology, the state of the art of Toyota's multi-technological approach fully represented by the Toyota C-HR Plug-in Hybrid, capable of combining sustainability, safety, performance, and driving pleasure.

Toyota C-HR Plug-in Hybrid takes electrification to a higher level with its range of up to 100km in fully electric mode in urban contexts. Toyota's Plug-in Hybrid technology offers a smooth transition between Electric and Full Hybrid modes, ensuring maximum efficiency even when the battery is depleted, without constantly depending on charging infrastructure.

During time trial challenges, the second generation of Mirai, Toyota's zero-emission electric flagship powered by Hydrogen Fuel Cell, will also accompany the stages.

Completing the Giro d'Italia 2025 fleet are Toyota RAV4s, in Full Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid versions, vehicles capable of best combining performance with high energy efficiency and extremely reduced climate-altering and polluting emissions.

In previous editions, Toyota's electrified hybrid fleet recorded top-level performance on the event's roads, traveling in zero-emission mode for over 50% of the time, demonstrating the contribution that Toyota's electrified hybrid technologies can provide to environmental protection and sustainable mobility while waiting for external conditions to allow widespread adoption of zero-emission vehicles.

Toyota will also be present this year at Giro E with a fleet of 20 electrified vehicles - 5 Toyota bZ4X, 5 Toyota C-HR Plug-in Hybrid, and 10 Toyota RAV4 Full Hybrid - providing concrete support for the sustainable mobility of the e-bike experience that accompanies the Giro d'Italia.

The protagonist of Giro E will be the Full Electric Toyota bZ4X, which will accompany cyclists during the stages. Toyota bZ4X is the first model in Toyota's electric vehicle range built on a dedicated platform (e-TNGA) and brings true SUV off-road capabilities to the electric vehicle market for the first time.
