Everything is ready for Sunday, April 6th for the traditional "Opening Ride" organized by the meritorious Veloce Club Tombolo 1974, which last November 29th celebrated its prestigious 50th year of foundation with an intense celebratory season.

The anticipated event, open to everyone, provides for the gathering in Tombolo, in the province of Padua, in the central Piazza San Pio X at 8:30 am with the celebration of Holy Mass in the Parish Church. Afterwards, there will be the blessing of participants and vehicles on the steps with the ritual photos.

The caravan will start at 9:15 am and will be escorted by the motorcycle staff of Veloce Club Tombolo, on the classic 25-kilometer tourist route to Valle Santa Felicita di Romano d'Ezzelino (Vicenza) and arriving at the large square of the "Mena", located at the foot of the Grappa Massif, followed by a rich "refreshment" organized in collaboration with the Pro Loco of Tombolo and intended for participants, family members, and friends, who are also expected to arrive with their own vehicles.

Participants can then continue the excursion along Monte Grappa or the Pedemontana, or return to Tombolo either in a group or by the social van made available. In case of bad weather, the event will be held on the following Sunday, April 13th.

The Tombolo association, as is known, was born from a group of enthusiasts (including the late President and Founder of Cittadella Calcio, Angelo Gabrielli and the former Mayor and President of the Province of Padua, Avv. Giacomo Pontarollo) who have always been dedicated to youth categories (very young, beginners, and juniors, male and female) with important results and the progression of various riders to higher categories, in addition to the cycling tourism-amateur sector.

Multiple local, national, and international events have been organized: such as youth races, for amateurs and professionals (in-line, stages of various Giro d'Italia), the International Trophy Grand Prix Città Murata, the Awards Gala with the presence of champions and many guests, developing interdisciplinary synergies with associations and athletes (including Cittadella Calcio and Lupebasket San Martino di Lupari of A1) and collaboration with Giancarlo Andolfatto (Crono Grappa and BikePass Club) and various initiatives planned by Alessio Berti. The club's showcase includes many cups, trophies, and awards, including the Bronze Medal of the President of the Republic and the Silver Stars conferred by CONI and the Italian Cycling Federation.

The historic association, chaired by Amedeo Pilotto with Vice-Executive, Sergio Pivato and an active Board of Directors, in the new seasonal program, provides for the delivery of the precious Bragagnolo Argenti Plaque to the MBH Bank-Ballan-CSB-Colpack team, winner of the 2024 Città Murata Grand Prix, and has also confirmed the Giovanissimi Grand Prix prepared in June in the evening at the Municipal Stadium, and is verifying the date of the classic race for Elite and Under 23 Alta Padovana Tour, in addition to the "La Bestiale" gravel gathering that was a great success in the previous edition.
