Cycling is more than just a sports discipline, and a bicycle race can communicate much more than a finish order, involving values, choices, and lifestyles. Tour of the Alps has always believed in this, and when it encounters realities that share its approach to sport and its social impact, that's where initiatives capable of engaging and inspiring are born.

After inaugurating the "Bike Day" format in 2024, bringing over 250 people by bicycle to the Druso Stadium in Bolzano during an FC Südtirol football match in Serie B, this year Tour of the Alps proposes a new collaboration with Aquila Basket Trento, a team in the basketball Serie A and recent winner of the Italian Cup.

Three weeks before the 48th edition, scheduled in the territories of the Tyrol-Alto Adige-Trentino Euroregion from April 21 to 25, Tour of the Alps, Aquila Basket, and Trentino Marketing will create Ride&Dunk, an initiative that combines basketball and cycling, organized with the collaboration of the Trentino Committee of the Italian Cycling Federation. The initiative will take place during the headline match of the 24th day of the Lega Basket Serie A, which will see Aquila Basket Trento and Germani Brescia, currently tied for second place in the standings, face off at "Il T Quotidiano Arena".

A social ride that will take participants, on bicycle, from the Aquila Basket headquarters in Trento, in the Albere neighborhood, to Il T Quotidiano Arena, ahead of the championship match between the Trento team and Germani Brescia, scheduled for 6:15 PM on Sunday 30 (live TV broadcast on DMAX).

The day will begin at 2:30 PM on Via Adalberto Libera in Trento: from the Aquila Basket headquarters, at 3:00 PM a social ride open to everyone will start, to arrive together on two wheels at the arena through a cycling path. Upon arrival, it will be possible to park bicycles safely in the special bike racks set up for the occasion in the square in front of "Il T Quotidiano Arena".

Participants will be welcomed by a fan zone powered by Visit Trentino: an entertainment area with food & beverage stands, animation by Radio Viva FM, the Tour of the Alps radio partner, and many activities and initiatives dedicated to families and children, themed around two wheels and more. Thanks to the support of FCI Trentino and the Local Police, children can enjoy a dedicated gymkhana and participate in interactive and engaging workshops on road safety. Surprises will not be lacking during the match, with the presence of ambassadors and personalities linked to Tour of the Alps and the world of cycling.

Ride&Dunk is an event open to everyone, so it will not be necessary to purchase a ticket for the match to participate in the social ride and the activities set up outside the arena.
